I'm all for it. We need less people in this world not more, and stopping what's probably not going to turn into a good life before it starts sounds like a very good option to have.
Thats a tough one for me as I am not a woman and will never be pregnant. However I do value all life, and don't like seeing any life destroyed. Then again if a woman got raped, and then pregnant, thats a tough situation.
And then comes the argument, some believe that until the third trimester it actually becomes a baby. This later leads them to believe that getting an abortion anytime before this is alright on their standards.
If you look at videos of abortions taking place, you can see the embryo actually trying to get away, and live. It's really heartbreaking to see, poor things never have a chance, for all we know that unborn child could have done great things.
While I can think of no defense for the unpleasantness that you mentioned, couldn't the "great things" argument also apply to birth control in all it's forms?
"you can see the embryo actually trying to get away, and live"
the same circumstances apply to perhaps a spider, that no doubt most people would be happy to kill. no it wont ever be capable of "great things", but going by the philosophy that "all life is sacred", should you not also leave the spider be, as the majority of them can't harm us anyway. an irrational fear/hatred, resulting in loss of life, even happening between humans.
my point of view, would be to assume that most people wanting an abortion, are wanting so simply because they're not ready to supply for that, soon to be, child. im all for abortion, though ultimately i believe it should be the choice of the carrier.
after this "49 days" or however long, look toward adoption, in my opinion.
if abortion was illegal, and a baby was born into a family that simply couldn't provide... it could quite possibly be neglected and become ill/die. or perhaps loved so much so, to drive the family to crime for the baby's sake. either way, a lot of lives would be affected, either family being dragged into the equation, or victims of such crimes to help support the child.
being born into a family where you're truly wanted, rather than becoming a burden, is definitely the choice i'd take.
You wouldn't have the voice to claim it aloud... neither the capacity to achieve such a rational thought. That last sentence of yours is rather paradoxical, don't you think? Like if you could choose, or as if a postponement wouldn't imply another human being born instead of you, instead of that self you give voice and free will.
i can imagine if i were born, all those years back, into a poor household that didn't actually want me, i'd be a completely different person right now. children thrive on attention, they Need looking after every second of the day, everyone knows the kinds of things they attempt to swallow when they're young :) apparently i've eaten a fair few snails in my time as a youngster.
so even though i'd be the same "human being", i'd be a completely different person, if i had even reached this age through all the neglect.
i think the question should be put straight to the carrier. "can you support this baby", if not, "do you want to abort", if yes, then i don't think there should be an uproar over how that baby was a living being, about murder and the sorts.
perhaps we should look toward the protestors to adopt these soon to be kids.
yes it's their own fault for not playing it "safe", i wouldn't like to be the one telling them "it's your own fault, deal with it". education is where the problem lies, kids should be better taught of the responsibility, support and care it takes to raise a decent child.
and yes i agree with that first sentence. which is all the more reason why i'd expect the parents to make the choice. preferring to be born into a happy household that actually wanted a kid is my claim right now.
in the embryonic stage they have no voice, no rational thought, just as you said. they can't do... anything, but feed and grow (that i'm aware of). surely if a baby is unwanted, it's better to terminate early on, than hold onto your doubts till it's born, then simply struggle through it all (or perhaps give up, it wouldn't be the first time a child dies). i've heard it said, that having a baby (though creating life), can destroy the life of a young parent. you're from there-on bound to caring for the child, willingly or not. so i stand by that last comment, if a couple were having a child, who couldn't support, nor give the time/care/attention a kid needs, i definitely think abortion should be available. sorry for the ramble :P i don't even remember half of what i typed already
i developed an allergy that spread to my lungs and i nearly suffocated one morning after smoking a few beezers
it was unfortunate that it took me until i could have died to quit but it was a blessing of a wake up call. if it wasnt for that incident…
Nick speaks the truth. If it bothers you so much then dont go near anywhere that celebrates it.
I'm not gunna go to the middle east because I can't stand their backward ass culture, I'm not gunna sit and bitch and whine about their backwardassness…
