I think that if the ISP add an extra 20 NOK ( wich is like 3.50 dollars ) on your montly internet fee and let that money go to the record companies and film makers, it would cover the financial loss. Got this information off the norwegian documentary :"Urospredere", were Peter Sunde ( one of the founders of the pirate bay ) also talked.
I think it’s a bunch of crap—•—•—• Besides that would be like using nuclear arms to deal with…… people throwing paper on the ground.
Even then I think its an insane ugly world where people use institutions of force to impose their whim onto others.
No, and an organisation against downloading of copyrighted programs, files etc. tried to stop it illigally here in Denmark, the idiots got peoples IP-addresses from the information that MSN gave to the internet-providers here. - Scary..
You can use bittorrent for legal stuff too. Bittorrent is an amazing technology. Like fire -- you can use it too cook meals or to ignite foreign homes. The same goes for kitchen knife.
Bittorrent is just a protocol, optimised for a certain use. Also there are plenty of videos on-line that are free. Who would accuse me if i use bittorrent to download copyleft material. Do not blame a protocol for its misuse, just because it is good technology. Its like blaming the inventor of kalashnikov for so many people damaged. Not guns kill, people do. If not kalashnikov, those people would find, or invent, different kinds of weaponry. Bittorrent is not the first method of file-shearing, maybe not the last. If not bittorrent, other ways will be sought and found.
So if you ban bittorrent, why not banning the internet as such. Cuz there is a lot of mischief on-line, you know!
There's nothing wrong with bittorrent.
It is a file distribution system, and as any file distribution system it can be used for legal and for illegal purposes.
Banning it would do nothing but make more people use it. A widespread ban on such a well known piece of software would only give it publicity. Which would mean even more people would use it.
Sure, it's nearly only used for illegal purposes, but so is the internet. Do you really think they can ban the internet?
Also, the prices that are charged for software now are completely rediculous. A brand new PC game can be up to £50, which is nothing short of extortionate.
Yup, thats y people start to use illigal software because the price is going fucking crazy!
Well, before BT was introduce the man who written the program says that it uses for legal purpose.. like downloading WoW from it's installer.
People use illigal software means that the developer need to reduce their price, i bet a £10~15 per game is enough for recovering the cost of developing the game. I can say right now, developer is "over-earning" money... lol
"I am constantly laughing and smiling at stuff that is not funny and I want it to stop" hmmmm... i could totally go ahead and throw a small essay out there :P.... though i'd be a complete hypocrit :/
i figure maturity to be a "time and a place" thin…
