Suicide isn't an option, it is for the weak, for the fools,

If you think life is pointless, then maybe for you it is, but there are other people in this world who don't see it that way and would like to see it in a better way,

Therefore it would be a wiser thing to contribute to society and think of it in this way: "It's not about me, even though it may seem pointless to live life everyday, it won't be pointless to contribute to society and help other people because for them, my help is not pointless."

So I'm not saying you should be a humanitarian or something, but what I'm saying is that by simply living you help other people in a small way but if you practice self development then you can do alot of good things without even noticing/enjoying them in the same time.

I hope I didn't sound too harsh in the first two paragraphs, and good luck :)

i have no clue where i'm pulling this short phrase from... though "life is what you make of it" i figure should stand pretty tall throughout this discussion ^^. in my opinion, bluntly, there is no point in life... things only have a point / matter at all to ourselves and those around us (both human and animal alike), there is a point only with emotion. there would be no point in winning or losing without feelings of triumph / happiness / content / success or failure / sadness / and... so on :x anyway, so far as we go, there are a mass of emotions flurrying all around ^^ the focus should be on bringing about the positive emotions, if not simply learning to control / manipulate or regulate the way you feel. there's a video i'd like you to watch concerning all of this so far:

the thought that we can synthesize happiness, for me at least ^^ makes everything ever so slightly less meaningful :) all things good and bad are open to interpretation by our minds. in the video above there is talk of Impact Bias, followed by a display of our inaccuracies of judgement... which begs the question ^^ if emotion is such a temporary fluctuation of the core... is it not damage of the core itself that is the cause of depression? not so much solace, as just plain becoming accustomed to whatever negative feelings a person might experience. the cure for this, superficially being an active lifestyle of varied focus in the search for a purpose, interest... and above all, in my opinion ^^ to find something you enjoy doing, and take it to the point where you either ace in that field... or feel the need for something else :) i guess the most daunting thought i used to have when thinking of my future life... was the need to choose something and stick at it forever and ever... which really isn't the case at all :) ie, there's no rule saying you can't duck and dive and taste all the waters before getting yourself submersed within whatever world you find the most joy :) ANYWAY >.< deeper below ^^ i suppose would be that cliché of all clichés..... the search for happiness :)

although yes, you can potentially be of awesome use to humanity ^^... as can everyone... our experiences limit us, limit the influences by which we're compelled, which sees that potential go wasted in many. although you could likely find purpose in the need for your skills in today's systems somewhere, that still leaves the issue of which field to enter ^^ which is why i'd totally recommend just plain trying things out, in search of those interests mentioned.
focusing on a subject you enjoy + a life free of renown / great purpose to others
>
focusing on a subject you believe will achieve you great purpose / renown... yet isn't what you REALLY want to be doing ^^ (i guess the word "realistically" can screw things up a bundle right about now :x though we'll never know without trying hmm :))

there's no need to go into any depth to begin with, just to list a few though you may even start with the education most of us receive, i know you're damn well capable of seeking all of this out yourself :P though in the case of a little laziness ^^ guess i'll throw out some random links of possible interest on a few subjects - what with life having little or no meaning on the grand scale ^^ surely the emphasis that the meaning of life is very much within that "eye of the beholder" :) should see you want to enjoy it while it lasts??... explore what the world has to offer within your time here?:

^^ live for yourself imo, if that means helping others then so be it :) struggling to get up out of bed every morning with an unwillingness to go about your day to come :x... is probably a huge sign that something needs to change ^^.
Dean's made plenty of threads that can influence you for the better :) "A Nice Lecture on Emotional Intelligence" by Alan is also as good a place as any to start i figure. you need to start caring more, especially about yourself... caring about how you want to experience your life and how best to get there.

hmmm, i didn't even touch on any kind of social factors :S though... alongside this probably being longer than you'll be likely to want to read :P i've completely lost my trail of thought ^^ so here's hoping something in this discussion or elsewhere will influence you somehow :S for that to happen, i guess first and foremost, you have to be willing to take some action :) you have the best of my good luck with that ^^... HAVE SOME FUN!!!
ciao

normally if i met some one depressed i would Say F**k you Emo @$$hole but you want to get out of it to the extent you've anti Depressants so lets see Paul

I know that this World has all the reasons to depress someone but look at the positive side, make friends, wear bright colors, listen to positive music, watch comedy shows like Two and a half men.The Simpsons and south park,go out with your family,Do Sports it's a great way to have fun,Draw paintings if your good at drawing,Join a band if your good at singing or playing music, see what ever else you were interested in and try doing it again, see what depresses you and why does it depress you

really if you do what i've just said it would cure your depression

I know everyone is telling you about mental changes you can work to achieve, but i know its really hard. People may tell you generic lines like "You just have to believe in yourself" and things like that, but i know overcoming the mental mountain isnt something that cant be accomplished in a day. Its a gradual thing.

BUT, there are plenty of physical changes you can make in your day-to-day routine will almost double your affectiveness in overcoming depression, and supplement your efforts with the mental battle youre going through.

For one, exercise. Whether this be a 5 minute walk you take everyday, or mappng out an entire workout routine. This works on several levels: it gives you a goal, a sense of purpose and aim, also as you may well know, excersise releases endorphines into your body, making you "feel good". Ever heard of a runners high? My advice would be start out slow, so as not to get burnt out early.
Step two, switch up your eating habits. The correct diet can do wonders in balancing the hormones in ones body, as well as promoting good health. Do some research and find food that boost Seratonin levels, this will help regulate your mood, rid your body of toxins, etc.

All of this combined will help out ALOT. just give it a try, and i hope my advice will help you.
I am more than willing to talk with you further, even to the extent ill give you my number to call me :D theres plenty more i have to say on the topic, but i dont want to ramble lol, so ill cut it off here. But message me, Paul if youd like to hear more from me.

Whooa there, don't go all symbolic on here, man. I think it's more a matter of how you use the words and not their simple usage the problem. By the way Remy, smiling and saying to yourself that you are happy might make you happy, but on the lo...
