"Authentic" recreation of a viking village

I just found this image in the web and I was wondering if vikings would have actually liven in those things, I mean did they paint their fence white?

And annother thing that worries me about this picture is...are those houses like hobbitholes, build inside of hills or are they just some houses with growing grass over their roof...

I take it… that is probably authentic of some place[Except for modern looking features that is]… the modern looking features are probably contrived but, if viking were still around even those would be authentic.

I like how the houses are made to look like hills, very sneaky, almost ninjaesque. I definitely approve, especially since vikings were pretty much the toughest europeans ever. Those norse men sure knew how to pillage.

I definitely agree…… I like how it looks The reason is because I’m an animal and it is similar to my natural environment.
Non the less beauty is defined by context by our understanding and by intention. I think such a construct in a modern setting communicates better these things context intentions… and in a more positive light then more standard buildings that look like they have bad context and bad intention yet are non the less, inexpressive. ^^(I like it in other words.

These are wooden houses, the grass is growing on top of it.
These fences are the color of the wood, it is that white.

That was my 1st thought when I saw thw fence, but look nearlier at one that looks kind of splitted, there you can see it actually looks brown...maybe they wanted to represent the white wood vikings used, but whatever...

Interesting, I checked my images a a viking village and they seem to be more browner.
