I Power

Self-Development Activism

There's a lot of talk on the forum, which is great. But I'm beginning to worry if that's all we ever do. Myself included.

How has I Power really changed your life? And I'm not talking about "Oh I think about things...more...I guess". I'm talking about real, actual changes.
Have you quit drinking so much, have you quit smoking, maybe found a better job, got a girlfriend, tried to make a difference in your community, become a better friend, ...

Factual things. How has it improved you?
And most importantly; what are you working on right now?
Or what would you like to work on, and why aren't you doing it?

Let's get something done.

****Update:
This thread was very difficult for a lot of people a while back and a lot of people didn't really understand what the question was or even why they should make changes in their lives.
I figured enough time has passed and I've decided to ask you guys again.

What has I Power done for you? What have you accomplished since?
What have you changed... actual changes....

I'd also love to get the people involved who responded to this discussion the first time around, just to see what other developments they've undergone since. But some of them have left the site, so that might be hard...

Patience is a great start. Especially since so many of us are growing more and more impatient these days

I'd have to say I have been working on life changes and improvements for quite some time before I found this site, but one could consider this site to be one of the changes I have made. So... I quit smoking 3 weeks ago, was hired for a new job yesterday, and I am now a member of ipower.
How this site will benefit me is yet to be seen and will depend on what I am willing to get out of it.

Glad to hear you were already so actively involved in changing your life for the better.
I hope I Power will help you in the ways you'd like it to. Keep us posted on what you're working on and how you feel this network could best contribute to that.

Congrats on the quitting smoking. From what I hear, it's very difficult. I hope you're enjoying the benefits of a healthier lifestyle already.
Good luck on the job and I hope to see you around on the forum!

You must be kidding, right ?
There are good things to be taken on this website, you can't just say that it will change your life.

Yeah buddy, come to Ipower it will change your life, lol......

Human behaviour, that is all that i can see.
People being fond of something, i don't see any change in people's life but more in people's mind (i still have doubts on that as well).

I still have hope that this site might change people's life, but i still need some proof.

You make it sound like changing your life is the hardest thing to do.

I'm talking about simple things as well.
Could be that discussions on this website have helped you become more aware of the importance of politics, of defending your own rights. Could be that it has helped your relationship, that you've started to do something for the community in which you live. Could be that you've started to live a healthier life or became less materialistic, ...

Have a little more faith in people. It doesn't take an army to change something in your lifestyle.

Besides, I thought the I Power principles were all about putting your vision into practice.
Is it such a ludicrous question to ask if people have actually done this?
:p

God, I hope not, or else there's really no point in what we're all doing here.

I'm not talking about me here.

There are things, that i already know when it comes to politics and defending my rights. I'm only not feeling people ready to act accordingly. If you can prove to me the contrary, i'm open to it.

My lifestyle doesn't need to be changed, my wife has already handled that aspect of my life (trust me).

I have put my vision into practice, i'm a very action oriented person, i prefer judging the acts not the words.

"i prefer judging the acts not the words."
Me too. Hence the topic: 'what have you done already.'

And yeah, a lot of things that are dealt with on this site are widely known facts or information. But some aren't. And I'd like to think some threads have been helpful or have helped people form an informed opinion about certain aspects and perhaps even made them act accordingly.

And I can't prove the contrary of 'only words and no actions' to you yet, that's what this discussion is all about. It's about saying what you've accomplished or achieved. Or what you're trying to achieve.

"My lifestyle doesn't need to be changed"
That's a bit of a risky statement. Not that there's automatically something wrong with your lifestyle; I'm just saying in general. Every lifestyle has flaws and there's always something that can be improved.

If people shut themselves off to the possibility that they might make some things better in their own life, and don't even bother to look at the things they might improve as well as the things they've already improved, then they shouldn't be on I Power. This is about being open-minded and you learn as you go.

(I don't mean you personally, here, I'm just talking in general of course)

Of course. No one is saying people can't improve. The entire idea of I Power is based on the idea that people can improve. The only question I thought of asking is if this concept of I Power has helped anyone already in any way to better any aspect of their lives...

I had no idea this was going to be such a difficult question or that it could be misinterpreted.
I only wanted to know if through the I Power principles anyone has begun to put certain principles/vision into practice. And if so, what are they.
