I Power

Self-Development Activism

Modified this a little bit....wanna make it so we can start going over the day to day struggles....not to mention how it ties in with the 3rd principle of putting my vision into practice

Ok, many...well some.....well a few.... ok maybe like 10 of you listened to the I-PowerCast today and heard most of the details of my "BIG" project.

Reese and a few others have offered to help me go for it!!!!
I am planning on quitting smoking......I need your help though.... in fact I need all the help I can get.

I tried my first cigarette when I was 10 years old. My best friend Evan and I coaxed some 97 year old man to buy us a pack with the promise of letting him keep the change (75cents). We smoked 3 each....well chain smoked 3 each and kept the sporadic habit til we turned 13.

At 13 we started buying packs on a consistent basis and by the time I was 14 or 15 I was up to a pack a week. By 16 I was buying a pack a day and got them for free because I'd buy about 3 or 4 cartons and sell them individually to other kids who didn't have an 'in' with local tobacco distribution man (or parents who didn't give a flying fuck). I kept this up til after high school when I began buying my own packs because the other kids were now old enough.

Most of my adult memories involve smoking, quitting is something I've never really explored before and truth be told I am kind of afraid to quit. Much of my peronality derrives from tobacco usage. I'm the guy who always has a pack (aqnd a few others probably in my room), who pays friends 20-30$ everytime they go to an exotic place to find me a new brand and get a carton. I constantly smoke.....lunch breaks, between classes, at home, even now I'm smoking a Gauloise (French brand from France) and I smoked 3 today during the I-PowerCast.

I've suffered the bar ban, restarant ban, mall ban, airport ban. I huddled together with my fellow smokers at bus stops, train stations and outside a million other places in the freezing cold weather while we bitched about the anti-smoking laws.

I joined I-Power and created a smoking group, kept a smoking room in dozens of buildings I've worked in (that did not allow it) and spent countless hours mimicking the idiots who chastised me for my dirty, disgusting habit.

Fuck... I even ran a marathon against cancer a few months ago and was featured in a newspaper for being the only one who finished with a cigarette (I still placed 6th out of 500+)

And here we are.... I now want to quit. I am going to complete an entire cycle of I-Power's 3 principles......I asked everyone who wanted to participate in this to watch a few I-Power videos http://ipower.ning.com/forum/topic/show?id=2057690%3ATopic%3A299103... reason I asked is because I want this to be more about YOU than ME....if we really believe in the I-Power lifestyle I am sure a few of us can accomplish a lot. What I need now is some help. The first step for me is to get this organized. I need a quitting date and well..... I need pretty much any help anyone can give me.....This is gonna be some hard shit but if any of you actually help I'll owe you big time...

Can we do this guys? I'm not ashamed to say I can't do this alone

It's sailing smoothly Leysen, I think the first 24 hours were the hardest... I can taste some stuff that I'd forgotten about the taste for over a decade now..... celery actually has a flavour to it....who'd have thought?

....thanks for saying I'm bigger than I-Power, left you a nice thank you on my profile page

Good for you! Quitting is hard business, especially since people expect a reward after achieving small goals. That's why my mother never quit for more than two weeks at a time, she kept treating herself to a celebration drag every time... Keep staying healthy, and inspire others by staying quit! ^_^

Do alot of things that're new to you.
I'd recommend Something with High adrenaline... It would keep you busy alot, And keep you rmind completely away from it.
Spend ALOT Of time Spending it with your friends or family and Clean alot... But not too much or you'll end up a clean frreak like my mum.

I wouldn't play games or anything stressfull too.

I havn't quitted nor Have I ever smoked before, But I think These should help you alot.
