Self-Development Activism

I'm interested, I recently posted a discussion about what I want to do when I get home, I have alot of time to think about it and theres alot of little things there.

So what's on your list? What do you want to do before you die? What are the little things in life that you would like to do and achieve as well as the big things?

Mine is unfathomably long if trying to cover more than a year.

TO DO
High priority:
- sharpen social skills (less obnoxious, underline catalysis for free speech and openness);
- find empowering workplaces/jobs (I'm really picky about this);
- if there is something to do, do it instantly (thanks Dean);
- tighter day action planning;
- work out/exercise/keep fit;
- exercise focus and pragmatism.

Medium priority:
- record songs/practice with the people/bands I'm involved;
- learn Forex trading;
- learn how to cook proper dishes;
- learn Max/MSP;
- learn SQL/PHP;
- remember to brush teeth regularly;
- use only open-source software.

Low priority:
- learn to edit videos;
- vacuum cleaning;
- wash clothes.

This is the short list of things I want to achieve, short/medium-term.

Nice list.

Thanks, I also gauge the completion level on these so I can kick my ass if I'm lagging behind on any of them.

You forgot to list the dishes! :P I like your list, there's a lot of realistic stuff there, so I think you can meet all of it when you put your mind to it.

Solve world hunger
End the energy crisis
Turn the dust bowl of Africa into a lush grassland
Solve the housing crisis
Fix the economy

Ok, I'm being a little silly, but you've got to admit that those would be some great aspirations, and they can all be done with a lot of hard work and perseverence by a group of wealthy and powerful conglomorates without the idea of profit in mind, focused entirely on making the world a better place for everyone to live in.

If you've got the spark, the kernels, the root answer to all of those problems and you're drawing up and expanding on possible solutions, then it isn't silly at all. Keep in mind that this discussion is about your own To-Do list.

TO DO
High priority:
- Learn 1 French/Japanese phrase/word everyday.
- Become a pro at graphic design and photo manipulation.
- Write about the day in my journal aswell as write my thoughts onto it too. (to help me decode them/read them)

- Learn to code atleast 1 Basic/Advanced C++ program, I have noticed that simply watching videos and reading tutorials can't help me learn something alot (specifically programming) so I noticed taht I can learn C++ effectivly by writing a program which is exactly like the example program (ie: copying it but NOT using the copy/paste), it's similar to learning how to walk when someone is holding your hand, it is also similar to learning how to draw by tracing.

Medium priority:
- Get hired in a part time job.
- Eat healthy food and only sometimes drink Coke or something else which is unhealthy.
- Learn to draw anime.

Low priority:
- Clean the house.
- Beat my cousin at every 2-player videogame we play.

Nick speaks the truth. If it bothers you so much then dont go near anywhere that celebrates it. I'm not gunna go to the middle east because I can't stand their backward ass culture, I'm not gunna sit and bitch and whine about their backwardassness…

Interesting. I would also agree that we are at stage four if we are a tribe.
