Great comment, a3a4.

The promotion of voluntarism, rather than over-reliance on direct incentives and coercion to get things done.

obviously the world is slow to catch up with its potential, and food, all textiles, and electronics is still a huge (basically) slave labor market, every advance in manufacturing technology is like a checkmark on the side of another paradigm's rationale: that everything we need and can imagine could be produced with less labor stress and also free of the thoughts of guilt that the majority of people will encounter when finding out about the bad history of the modern world. nobody likes to hear that the government rolled a tank on somebody (unless it was on a hippie or a first-nation, coincidentally enough, you see the fallibility of pathos in solving the debate?) because a death or a tortured life is a waste of human potential that comes out best when someone is educated and learns to love their vigorous interaction with their environment. when that vigor is doing something productive, we should study that, and multiply it. channel the potential that oozes out of our brains and bodies.

Like i would love to build an amazing house for someone who needs it, as part of a team, with a program from the government or a business investing in that area. alot of people would love to, its only a matter of human resource management, something capitalism is okay at in many instances, but is surprisingly inflexible as we see in this era when large large groups of people want something other than what is given to them

the number of troops involved and the death toll is way down at least on the first world side, nobody since nixon has been able to really get a huge number of people onto the wagon and wage a war. besides the general feeling that non-megascale war is pointless, its sort of a matter of whether the masses are happy playing games at home, or unhappy playing games at home.

the rationale of the decision to incite conflict is not too hard to trace in order to study it. Mccarthyism, zionism, and normal businessman activity. The development trades and debts you mention in south america are almost entirely great examples of activities done by random businessmen or profiteers, then entered into the web of the legal and currency-exchange bureaucracies -those things are the important grinders to examine in my opinion not just because they deal with the pitfalls of world-building efficiency and ration (not morality), but because it gives a clear picture of how to improve the situations: through strong innovation in human resources philosophy/procedure.

when a person or office set up a weapons ring to destabilize elements of an area, or sets up a debt enforced by cronies to extract wheat and sugar etc, they're doing it because they want the reward. In past decades and centuries, the most easily understandable and well-studied way to do this was exploitation, so 'by magic' people employed the tactic for their goals. I am fairly confident new efficient technologies and ways of doing business related to New Accountability, the internet's communication and record-keeping and accessing potential, open-source design of a ton of different shit, etc all that is like nascent proof that exploitation is on the way out. The potential of 100 uneducated pained slaves is a low-tech solution to things we can start doing with educated people --not that this will out-mode the rest of the world who isnt educated, it will increase the rationale for massive education. that's my view anyway. i do agree with you on the facts you presented.

hmm i shoudl retract some of the sureness in my statements about weapons from pakistan, but like when you sniff the air, you can smell where soemthing is comign from adn i dont mean this culturally or in a derogatory way- when you look at the loud and proud direct statements of hostility made against the US and first world made by the people in power in iran, pakistan, north korea etc, it becomes irrational to say 'let them be'. obviously all sides need to accept limitation and change their outlooks.
aaa aaaa Comment by aaa aaaa on May 29, 2009 at 11:14am
the full solution is something about cultural respect, interdisciplinary and multicultural study of conflict and development, and if you look at it from this angle, north america is the source of alot of academic work on these topics. Developing coutnries have contributed to the debate too and often in very important ways, and they find organization within the academia of the US. minds here are not idle, and the continentis gifted with the freedom and luxury of thought, unlike many places.

IMF policy is indecent as well i agree, i dont support the Us on everything on these topics since they clearly do more than one thing, some good and some evil. protesting that all those pwoer groups just 'stop' what they are doign is not really a solution though, i belive it will take a reason for them to change to convince them- a promise of future stability and magnifcent peace and prosperity. This is an understudied area in many ways... anyone contributing to ideas about the glory of the future free of war is at least partially doing their part in my opinion
aaa aaaa Comment by aaa aaaa on May 29, 2009 at 11:07am
i agree the cia has been quite a terrorist i know all about it. its incorrect to say the world was less terrorized before the 2000's, its only in the last few decades that small countries have had the ability to make modern war, and many of them have and are still having it. tamil nadu has nothign to do with the US, neither do private armies in africa and south america that make it their daily work to rob and murder people trying to live honestly. I dont think the solution to small scale domination is large scale domination, but we must consider what allows the small scael to thrive and disrupt so many people. It will keep happening unless international force is applied or a new wonderful solution is imagined, since the unprecented current access to guns jeeps grenades missiles etc makes it continually an option for people in undeveloped areas who want to live a life of excitement and lawlessness (they haev their own complex reasons i dont morally condemn them, just want to analyze how we migth all benefit from changing the situation. The weapons and equipment that helps small-scale violence be so effective are undeniably being produced in the countries beign targeted by the US- iran and pakistan. so even when it seems like a moral division of 'aggressors' and 'defenders' is being made, the US is deflating the violence of earth. If you compare the numebr of armed troops that are actually active and killign each other, it has decreased in every decade since the 70s, wars have declined. we have disputes left, and its over thing we can understand: want for food and shelter, stability. there is a better way to do that than ALLOWING weaposn to be produced and sold to all amoral demi-warlords that tragically exist
