I think learning to understand the individual is better/easier than attempting to understand an entire gender by generalizing as doing so only leads to further confusion.

I think nice guys are the ones I'd prefer to hang out with. I don't need a jerk in my life. Mind you, there is a huge difference between a nice guy and a chump. Imo understanding the opposite sex is very important, or at least attempting to, instead of stumbling through your interactions with them trying to figure out what exactly it is that they want or wtf they're talking about.

i think its rather so so complicated to understand woman, but in the event we really want to have to weaken our defenses

Question to opposite sex, whats the mentality of you all when having a nice friend and trying to be a nice guy, clearly woman rarely make up set up to their real wants and just spent on being promiscuous

I don't think that understanding a woman is important, but understanding when you are a nice guy that you have been sidetracked and used with some promise of a relationship or sex while in reality there is no intention to have sex or relationship with you, but only because you will be there when she is in need.

A clear sign to move on to someone more interesting, but nice guys have no clue that they have been sidetracked, so this could help them if they start to believe it.

I won't attempt to answer for the womenfilk here, but I feel it is necessary that you understand some fundamentals about the whole thing. Generally speaking, us guys NEVER read signals, at least not correctly. I'm 53. Only one time did I ever think I had read a signal correctly, only to find out later it was actually heartburn.

Even if the womenfolk here explain IN DETAIL exactly what to look for, you'll probably have very little chance to actually use their explanation correctly. We just don't "get it." You don't know how many times I'ver started a sentence with, "But I thought..."

I'm usually really bad at picking up signals from girls. Either a girl likes me and I totally miss it and realize too late, or a girl thinks I'm coming on too strong and I don't realize I am until one of their friends tells me so. My question therefore is simply: how do I know if a girl is interested in me? What are the so called "signs"?

I'm not trying to be the 800-lb hairy ape in the room, okay? Threads are supposed to take care of the "Hair today, gone tomorrow" discussions. Comment Walls are made for the more general, "Ho, ho, ho, Hairy Christmas" stuff. And I don't mean to be a hair in someone's bonnet. I like the Hairy Krishna crowd just as much. Just don't be a bug under my rug.
