Adopting a philosophy of "No Blame"

I just want further to make it clear that "No Blame" is *far* from being the whole *extent* of my personal philosophy of life, that it is certainly far from being my only working principle! No, it'...

Adopting a philosophy of "No Blame"

I really think we agree much more than we disagree, and we should both pretty much just chill together and enjoy how much we really are in agreement and are really mincing words with each other, an...

I DON'T HEAR ANYONE SINGING!!

I was in West and East Berlin in 1987 at Berlin's 350th year celebration, singing with the Harvard Glee Club on tour, and I wrote the Glee Club's official piece of graffiti on the Berlin Wall. It s...

Adopting a philosophy of "No Blame"

This is slightly confusingly written, but I think what you're trying to say is that blame has its place as a motivator by using negative emotions in a positive way, though you admire the "No Blame"...

First, I will admit that I did not read all of the responses or responses to responses or responses to responses to responses (I think you get my point) but from I have read, the only practicality I see in the "No Blame" philosophy is in defusing ...

Something I've been doing in the last year or so is taking a cue from the Chinese _I Ching_ or _Book of Changes_, which to many questions has as part of its answer the words "no blame." I find these words to be immensely practical in day-to-day li...

following that li'l evaluation as close as i can ^^ what i was trying to say: Blame has its place as a motivator, by appointing responsibility, giving a point of focus when influencing a situation for the better. when a person is made responsible,...

I was in West and East Berlin in 1987 at Berlin's 350th year celebration, singing with the Harvard Glee Club on tour, and I wrote the Glee Club's official piece of graffiti on the Berlin Wall. It said, "Do Problem 2ä only." It's an in-joke, which ...

Well, for me, part of the "no blame" thing is not to get pissed that the bad thing, whatever it may be, happened in the first place. Oh, I acknowledge that it was *bad*, of course, absolutely, but if I can't lay blame, how can I be angry? I just c...

I have actually been doing this no-blame thing for a loooooong time and the results are obvious that people start to like you more and what not, but the biggest disadvantage that I found was, some people will know that you will forgive them for al...

No worries. The quotations marks would have helped to clarify that you meant something a little broader, or at least somewhat different, than I did, by the word "blame," but people *do* use words differently, and that's just one of the hazards of ...

I'm glad you see value in "getting on with sorting it out" as you say, for I think that's the basic point when there's a problem anyway, not potentially exacerbating the problem with personal accusations and personal blame (which I like to say "be...

Yes, yes, I know that. I was being very flexible with the word "blame", that's all. I wanted at first to put all the "blames" between quote marks, so you wouldn't take literally, only I was too lazy o type all of them in, so I left them out. Sorry...

About Me:
I was raised in a prominent theosophical family, have a Harvard degree in mathematics (class of '86), love cats (that's Leila on my shoulder in the picture), and donate lots of spare CPU cycles to worthy grid computing causes.

Beethoven, Peter Gabriel, Sarah McLachlan, Sting, Beck, U2, and on and on

The Lord of the Rings
Goals/Projects/Aspirations:
I seek to introduce, by half-adoption from the Finnish (I'm half-Finnish myself...) a new pronoun, "han," into English as a third-person singular personal gender-neutral pronoun, to replace awkward still-sexist constructs such as "he or she" and "him or her" and "han's" for "his or her" and so forth. That's just one specific goal. Generally, I seek to serve whatever best promotes the happiness of all consciousness.

john, I'm aware of "se," but I prefer "han" for English because it begins with "h" like "he" and "him" and "her" and "his" and "her" and "hers", and because it's three letters long and consonant-vowel-consonant like most of those words are, so it would "fit" more easily into English than "se." and i advise dropping the double dots over the "a" in the Finnish, for ease of adoption into the English. i think adding "han" would be a beautiful "Finnishing" touch to the English language from this half-Finn. :}

I also think "han" would work better because it sounds like "hand" and would subconsciously suggest that we're all like helping hands working together for all of our common good, even the "third person," "that" guy over there, han, yonder in the distance. It would translate, or rather adopt, as a term of universal siblinghood in the English, when I point that resonance out in my campaign to get "han" adopted, which campaign is only in its barest beginnings, amongst my friends, and here on I Power. It's an evolutionary linguistic change I'm working toward, one which would have peace-bestowing effects on the English-speaking world. And it would be very *very* far from the first time English has adopted a word from another language, to put it *mildly*.

hän… why not se… :\›› When we have an argue about which label to use we just use the label se… which is it or hän. (^^)— the use of finnish in english would be most certainly interesting.

Hello, I Power community! Welcome to my page! I hope for free, frank and totally open dialogue about whatever subjects you feel like talking about with me, and with each other, and I hope you'll be very civil on my page. That's a hope more than a demand, but I really appreciate civility. Freedom of speech includes the freedom for me to put in my request that my page be a respectul-of-each-other sort of page. And let that begin with me! If you ever catch me being (and it *would* be accidentally) uncivil to anyone on here, please bring it to my attention and I'll do my best to correct the situation. I may be a pretty opinionated guy about a few things, but I'm also one of the more harmless guys you're going to meet, usually.

I'm here to support my own and others' self-development/activism and to make friends and share many ideas in the process. Please welcome me, as I'm somewhat shy, though working to get over that (self-development in progress!)
