I've been away for too long

I'd really like to be more active on this website. This, I believe, is the first one of it's kind; a social network that focuses on self development, which is what really interest me rather than just boring myspace, which account I already deleted.

My last blog was about how goals haven't worked for me lately. I've been thinking very hard about this (about 10 minutes :-\ ) and I've come to realize I'm too comfortable. Whenever I get out of that comfort zone, I get frustrated, anxious, depressed… Continue

Goal setting.

I was just thinking that when I set goals I just don't seem to follow through. It has happened before but I just never thought about it that way. It appears that when I do set goals, in my mind it becomes something that I have to do rather than something I want to do. When I don't, then it is easier for me to do the things that I want to do. When is something that I have to do, then it becomes stressful and anxiety kicks in. Does that make any sense to you?

Anyways, a perfect example of this wo… Continue

I figure something out.

All my life, I've been worrying about not having or rather not been able to figure out what my purpose on this earth is, and till this day, I still can't grasp on it. There's where my depressions come from (not to mention the low self-esteem I get sometimes), but I just figure out that if I don't go out there and try things out, I will never find out. I know someone else might have found this easy to understand, not for me though. I'm a really stubborn person. Sometimes I just want things to hap… Continue

Thanks a lot guy!!!!

Wow! I wasn't expecting to get commented on those blogs so fast, let alone been feature on the front page. Thanks to Amer Rhys, Daniel, Dean, Paladin, Arnd Franke and Carlos Segura for putting in the time, truly appreciate it.

I just got back from work, eager to have realize that Heroes volume 4 (one of my favorite TV shows) starts tonight. I didn't even know until this morning when I heard it on the radio, so that's that.

Another thing is that a few months ago I set a goal in which I would po… Continue

About Me:
Hey there, thanks for stopping by.

To tell you the truth, I am really bad at describing myself. I am very confuse at the moment because every day, I either try to improve a little bit about myself or I get depress thinking that nothing can be changed. I'm not trying to be negative but unfortunately I haven't found the balance in my life. I don't know what I want and I find it very difficult to keep going.

As for the moment though, the few things that I have improved on for the past 4 years are:

1- My physical appearance: I used to be 149 lbs (68 kilograms) and now I'm 118lb (53 kilograms). It took me about 11 months but I did it and I've been able to keep it off. I joined a mixed martial art school 4 years ago and on April 2008 I reached the rank of black belt. People say I'm pretty good at it so...Also, I'm taking a fitness kickboxing class which is doing the deed. My body is changing and I plan on keep going :D

2- I was the most quiet, shy, introvert, low self-esteem person that you could ever imagine could exist. Now, at at least I'm able to talk to people and also, I was taking classes at my school to learn how to teach and that helped a lot. Even though some days my low self- confidence takes over, at least it takes lest time to get it back up.

3- (update for November 20th 2008) 4 weeks ago, I started on my quest to a healthier lifestyle. I've cut out a lot of crap that my body does not need like coffee, creamers, muffins, milk, french fries, you name it. It's been tough but I've managed to keep it off and I don't feel the cravings that I used to get when around those things. I've added more vegetables and fruits to my diet. Also, I try to eat lean meats. I started drinking soy milk which I happen to love.

Well, so far that's all I can tell you. I'm yet to figure out exactly what it is that I really, really want but till then all I can do is keep on trying.
Favorite music:

Favorite movies:
The shawshank redemption is one of my favorites, Life is beautiful, The matrix trilogy, Groundhog day, and many many others I can't think off right now. Basically anything that has to do with self-improvement, eye-opening, motivation and whatnot is what I like in movies.
Favorite books:

Goals/Projects/Aspirations:
To raise my stamina, have more self-control, self-discipline. Build up on good habits such as helping more in the house, stop biting my nails. To find out what I really want out of this life. Going vegan, although for me, that's still a hard choice to make, but I'm taking it one day at a time.

WB Diana. We all were shy once (well I was anyway). I moved from engineering into tech sales, to change this inner shyness. Experience even took me further than I planned. Heck I can even get up and give speeches now. Probably the best thing to do is build several social groups which include strong personalities and study their style. We become who we associate with. Hugs hon, nice to meet you. Jim in Philadelphia PA

ooo well i hope you do exactly that :) for now you'll be looking toward that bar work you mentioned??
and yeah i think i am pretty sure on what i want, i just struggle sometimes with a way to get it :) if my interview to get into uni over the next couple of weeks goes badly, i seriously have no idea what i'll do. a year is a long time, so to say the least :) it'll be a set back. i guess there's only any use in looking forward though, only things that've depressed me lately are, well one person in particular :) and i don't even know why.
68kgs though :) nice job at losing all that weight! though :P i'm heavier than that at the minute, by a tiny bit.
"better to be fat and fit, than thin and starved" :) don't think i'll ever forget that little saying, sound like you have that in the bag though with all this martial arts + exercise stuff. good luck on the abs! and well :) good luck in everything, can't go wrong there right? :P hope you find what you're looking for, the sooner the better

Hey Diana,

Te agradezco la bienvenida. I'm glad to meet people from the I Power community, specially with a common background! I'd like to visit NYC in the near future. It's a wild city. Finally, I noticed in your profile that you are interested in fitness. I thought you would like the following post.

"It is possible to lose 20 lbs. of bodyfat in 30 days by optimizing any of three factors: exercise, diet, or drug/supplement regimen. I’ve seen the elite implementation of all three in working with professional athletes. In this post, we’ll explore a variation of the “slow carb” diet as used by Dean Karnazes, an ultramarathoner famed for completing 50 marathons on 50 consecutive days in 50 different states. The most impressive part of this, for me, is that he did so, not with the typical anemic marathoner build, but with a well-muscled mesomorph body. (...)"

I hope it's useful! Later on I would be glad to share with you my experience regarding fitness.

Cheers,

M

Or that one James Bond movie that starts off with him dropping down in the mountains on skies. I kept trying to watch it at night but falling asleep instead. Pretty much the only movie I've ever fallen asleep to.
