I am 64, a Canadian who moved to Australia in 1971 and have written 3 books--all available on the internet. I retired from full-time teaching in 1999, from part-time teaching in 2003 and from volunteer/casual teaching/work in 2005 after 35 years in classrooms. In addition, I have been a member of the Baha’i Faith for 49 years. Bio-data: 6ft, 225 lbs, eyes/hair-brown, Caucasian. Favorite music:
In the three year period June 2002 to May 2005, I periodically compiled a list of my favorite music. It was an attempt to define, to give expression to, to list what had become for me a vast sea of pleasureable sounds produced in a number of genres of music. My first memories of listening to music were in about 1948, although I was exposed to music right from the word go in 1944 by two parents who played the piano. I would post the list here, but it is too long. By 2008 it was a short list of over 60 years of musical experience, musical pieces I have enjoyed from a longer list of music that gave me pleasure, but it is, as I say, obviously too long to include here
Favorite movies:
By the time my first memories were taking form in this earthly life, in 1947 and 1948, radio was in the first years of its second quarter century and TV was just starting out on its journey for the masses after twenty years of technological development. My parents were in their teens and twenties when they listened to their first radio programs in the 1920s; my grandfather was in his fifties back in that roaring decade. These two mediums brought an immense quantity of historical impressions into my life and the lives of millions in the fifty-seven years that constitute my present memory-bank: 1948-2008. I have had a TV for 38 of those 50 years and enjoyed 100s of programs. My favorite movies from the years of my watching, 1948 to 2008, is too long to post here.
Favorite books:
FAVORITE BOOKS

Perhaps how much one reads is as important as what one reads, although one would not want to press this point too much. Given the fact that we all have different tastes, perhaps the essential question or comment under ”Favorite Books" is not “which books one has read” but “how much,” “when” and “why.” I offer this as a tangential remark for this part of the site to initiate a discussion on books for those inclined.

It is impossible for me to make an accurate record or even a reasonable guesstimation of what might be called my reading record since 1958, some 50 years, from puberty to these early years of late adulthood, age 13 to 63. I have made a start at such a record, though. For the most part, my reading is in the social sciences and humanities—a vast field to say the least and too extensive to even provide a cursory list of my favorite books here. My reading on dreams is not extensive, just a casual glance at the literature.
Goals/Projects/Aspirations:
I have many goals in many areas of my life, but the following is a specific one that relates to what I write. The literally hundreds of thousands of readers I have at locations on this many-layered web of prose and poetry, a warp and weft I have sewn in a loose-fitting garment across the internet, are found at over 4000 websites where I have registered: forums, message boards, discussion sites, blogs, locations for debate and the exchange of views. They are sites where I place essays, articles, books, ebooks, poems and other genres of writing. I have registered at this multitude of sites, placed my literary products there and engaged in discussions with literally thousands of people, little by little and day by day. I enjoy these results without ever having to deal with publishers as I did for two decades without any success. I hope to extend this readership as widely as possible in the remaining years of my life.

My First Blog Post At I-Power

I-Power is part of MY TAPESTRY OF INTERNET WRITING on the World Wide Web. There are now several hundred thousand readers engaged in parts of my internet tapestry, my literary product, my creation, my immense pile of words across the internet--and hundreds of people with whom I correspond on occasion as a result. This amazing technical facility, the world wide web, has made this literary success possible. If my writing had been left in the hands of the traditional hard and soft cover publishers,… Continue
