I'm actually terrible at Judo, I've been at it for four or five years, and I'm still grasping the basic principles. But the best thing I've taken out of it are ukemi. Doesn't matter If I can't throw that well, but it's especially important to know how to fall, since I get thrown a lot. ^^; I like to kick people more, so I study karate more intimately.

Nice to meet a fellow martial artist! ^_^

Japanese culture is a very interesting. I became interested with it when I began studying the martial arts (mostly karate and judo). It was very important to me to understand the people that developed the things like karate, so I understand better why I've devoted my life to karate. I learn little by little every day about Japan and its culture. Still can't speak or read Japanese all that well though, but I'm working on it (it isn't really that difficult of a language thankfully).
