Is this Big Oil's attempt at viral video propaganda?

If it is, I think it's pretty well done - and that is the most important thing to focus on. Propaganda finetuning if that is indeed what this is.

it's clever. The "liberation" comment about Iraq though is a dead give away. The reason this is important is because the people that believe Iraq was "liberated" are the same people currently in the US government & big oil and this just shows more propaganda ingenuity than I've seen before.

What do you guys think about this?

I noticed that at least a few of my new hits to my YouTube video were from Daily Kos. I did a search on their site and I found that another blogger did a detailed response to Joe American. He links to AA's blog and Buck Cash's blog, as well. Good stuff.

I noticed that, very recently, the video is coming up in search results next to "Joe's" video. This means my view count is going up by more like 200 a day rather than 2 a day. lol

Follow up:

The off shore oil drilling issue has been front page news here in Tampa for the past couple of days now. Obviously the major concern for Florida is that an oil spill would completely ruin the tourist industry here. Florida's governor Charlie Crist, who has positioned himself as an environmentalist in the past, is in favor of off shore drilling as close as 50 miles from the beaches.

Charlie Crist is rumored to be a front runner for he VP spot with McCain...

ALSO: Economists predict that the earliest we would see a beneficial impact on prices if the drilling did go forward would be 2030

Pat-nice one on the Galloway vid; that was unbelievably refreshingly honest. Of course it was the first time I'd even heard of this video. I think exposing these things for what they really are is a big part of what we should all be doing here. That's why this net neutrality issue going on right now is such a big deal

To coin a phrase used in many ghettos - Word. Definitely a lot of mental gardening being done in this speech. "What about the national habitat" - What about the INTER-NATIONAL habitat? The energy crisis is a problem that is affecting the world, not just Americans. The comment about Iraq - "They owe us" was, in my opinion the most sickening part of the entire video. Kimo and Daniel - nice anti propaganda as you've already said. Well done Aspiral Architect for spreading the news and not letting these kind of videos go unchecked... I think I'm going to like it here :)
